Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

With Billo, you have more freedom of choice. You can choose to receive only government mail. You can choose to receive mail from Billo-connected companies. You can choose to have a specific postal address with Billo and have all your physical mail digitized and presented in the app. No more scanning bills in your banking app. You also get a Digital Specific Postal Address that you can provide to your suppliers like Klarna, Wally, or your cleaning service so that you receive all your email invoices in Billo. Additionally, you get a brilliant scanner that catches invoices or letters that slip through and end up on your kitchen counter and an excellent categorization feature that you can easily customize. Kivra charges 20 SEK per month for the scanner and categorization. In Billo, everything is free! These are the main differences. Also, we have completely different user experiences. We hope you like ours!

You decide how you want to use Billo. You can choose to only use Billo as your digital mailbox, in which case only digitally sent letters will come through. If you choose to receive your physical mail in Billo, it will be scanned by us at our digitization center. In that case, you need to switch to a specific postal address so we can receive your letters (go to the FAQ section for a description of what a specific postal address means). If you want important letters that come to us to be forwarded to your registered address, we will send them to you. Billo receives your bills, insurance letters, and messages from authorities such as Skatteverket (the Swedish tax agency), Försäkringskassan (the social insurance agency), CSN, and more.

It's a really great feature! Suppose you want to receive all your mail in Billo, including your physical letters. In that case, you can register a specific postal address with the Swedish Tax Agency. Your physical mail will then be sent to Billo's automatic scanning center, where it will be scanned, digitized, and uploaded to your digital Billo mailbox. Fast, convenient, and secure.

If you receive a housing allowance, sometimes Försäkringskassan (the social insurance agency) may react to your specific postal address. But there's nothing to worry about. You just need to inform Försäkringskassan that you have Billo and have obtained a specific postal address because you want to receive your mail digitally. We have a good and close relationship with Försäkringskassan, and we are happy to help if you find it difficult.

If you miss physical mail and want to cancel Billo, contact our support and terminate the service. We will handle the matter as soon as we can and send a confirmation when it's done. Of course, there is no notice period. After about two weeks, the mail will start coming to your home again. For safety reasons, you can keep Billo for a couple of weeks after terminating the service to avoid missing any important bills.

Having Billo and receiving digital mail in your mailbox will always be free. Unlike Kivra, you can upload unlimited important documents for free. We also provide our smart scanner for free, so you can scan everything that has yet to be digitized, as well as the ability to create your own categories to gain full control over your life.

To accelerate the digitization of mail, we also offer the "All Post" service, which automatically sends your physical mail to your mobile device. "All Post" is completely free until March 1, 2024, so you can experience having all your mail in one place - on your mobile device. After that, we will charge 29 SEK per month, as long as you want, without any binding period. We hope that feels okay!

Billo is extremely concerned about the data of its users and complies with existing regulations in the area of personal data management. We only share data with third parties if you have given your consent. We would also only ask such a question if we have found a way for you to save money.

Yes! Download the app, and government mail will start coming to Billo instead of Kivra. We have also made agreements with the largest postal distributors in Sweden.

We recommend that you terminate your previous digital mailbox to have everything in one place. If you would get an invoice fee due to switching to Billo, we will cover the cost until it ceases. Contact customer service, and we will assist you in obtaining your compensation.

Currently, you have to save documents one by one and upload them into Billo. Billo will soon release a feature that allows you as a user to easily save all your documents in Billo wherever you want, inside or outside Billo. We believe these are your documents, and you should be able to control them easily.

You can reach us by calling +46(0)20-20 21 00, emailing hello@Billo.life, or using the chat function on our website. Our opening hours for phone and chat are weekdays, excluding holidays, from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

We handle your personal data in accordance with GDPR.

We take confidential information very seriously. All data transmitted through our services is encrypted. Our account information service is widely accepted and used for other financial services.

All physical mail is scanned in our digitization center, located in a secure classified environment. After the mail is scanned, the documents are destroyed and turned into eco-fiber. As a user, you may sometimes want a particular letter to be forwarded to your home address. In that case, we solve it by sending the letter to you via traditional mail as soon as possible.

Log into your Billo account — Profile —Your Details — Manage Account — Delete Account. You will receive a confirmation email when you close your user account. Afterward, you can use the service as usual and receive new content in Billo for 60 days. If you change your mind during this time, you can revoke the user account closure in the account settings.

No. Billo can be used even without linking your bank account. You can also pay invoices without linking a bank account.

However, linking a bank account makes it very convenient to know how much money you have left in your bank account to pay your bills.

Yes, you can. You can add other individuals within the app under Your Profile.

Billo is currently supported on iOS and Android. You can log in from any of these devices. Soon, logging in to your Billo account from a web browser will also be possible.

If you have physical mail sent to our Digitization Center, the letters are scanned automatically. Sometimes, when the computer cannot interpret the contents of a letter, a person needs to double-check the information to ensure accuracy.

You can change your phone number on your pages in the app.

Items such as debit cards and similar items that you, as a user, obviously want access to will be sent to your home address. Items that require the user's signature will also be forwarded to your home address.

Yes, you can forward your address to your Billo address. It works like a regular mail forwarding service, and all mail delivery will be redirected to our Digitization Center. You may need to contact support via phone, as Adressändring does not support the format on their website.

Please note that all your mail will be sent to Billo. Mail addressed to your home address will be redirected to our Digitization Center, and we cannot forward mail back to your home.

You can block changes to your special postal address through a form to Skatteverket (the Swedish tax agency). If you have done that in the past, the change you made when creating your mailbox in Billo will not go through. But don't worry; it can still be resolved. You must log in to the Swedish Tax Agency's website and change your special postal address to your Billo address. It can be done quickly, and we have also created a guide on how to do it:
https://Billo.life/special-postal-adress

Even after changing your special postal address, there may still be providers who do not automatically update your address. You may need to contact them yourself and inform them that you have a different postal address for physical mail.

If you are not registered in Sweden, you cannot have a special postal address registered with SPAR (via Skatteverket, the Swedish tax agency). However, you can still provide your Billo address (along with your Billo email) to any suppliers or similar entities you want to send mail to your special postal address in Billo.

Even after changing your special postal address, there may still be providers who do not automatically update your address. You may need to contact them yourself and inform them that you have a different postal address for physical mail.

Every user has a unique email address with Billo. The address consists of your Billo ID (without spaces) and @billo.life.

For example: 123ABC-X@Billo-life. You find your Billo ID on my pages in logged in mode under Profile -> "Your information".

You can provide your Billo email to all suppliers who send invoices via email. The invoices will automatically be sent directly to your Billo without you needing to upload them. If someone has already sent an invoice to your regular email, you can forward the email to your Billo email.

When you send an invoice to your Billo email, you can only send one at a time. If you send multiple invoices with the same email, the invoices will be scanned as letters. This also applies to our mobile camera scanning function.

Organizations' systems sometimes interpret changing to a special postal address as a change of address. However, this isn't the case. This can have consequences such as increased insurance premiums and rejected loan applications.

When you contact these companies/agencies, they understand the issue and will correct it. We continuously work on informing companies and government agencies about our service to reduce such incidents over time.

Obtaining a special postal address does not lead to the withdrawal of benefits, such as housing allowance.

We have collected relevant contact information for companies where inaccuracies have occurred. Please get in touch with our support at hello@billo.life, and we will assist you.

There are two levels of protected personal information.

Around 25,000 individuals in Sweden have the "regular" confidentiality designation. You can change to a special postal address if you have this level.

However, for the higher level of confidentiality, you cannot change it through your Skatteverket account. In that case, you need to contact Skatteverket and make an inquiry.

Currently, we do not offer Billo to companies. However, we are working on it and hope to provide it soon.

Yes, it is possible. You need to cancel your special postal address. This can be done through your Skatteverket account.

It may take some time for all suppliers to update the address change.

You can continue using Billo as usual.

When creating a new driver's license in Sweden, Transportstyrelsen (the Department of transport) sends a form that also requires attaching a photo. We send this form to your home address.

In the next step, Transportstyrelsen will send the completed driver's license to a local sub-post office near the address they have on record. In some cases, driver's licenses have been sent to the special postal address and ended up at a sub-post office near that address. This is a problem for those who live far away from that sub-post office. Billo cannot collect driver's licenses sent by registered mail from the sub-post office.

Therefore, it is important to notify Transportstyrelsen that you want the driver's license sent to your registered home address, not the special postal address. How do you do this? When Billo sends the form for the photo, we also include a form we have created. You fill out and include this form when you mail it to Transportstyrelsen.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that this will work. When it comes to government agencies, they often have strict procedures, for better or worse. We are, however, working on implementing an automatic solution in the long run.

What happens if your driver's license still ends up at a sub-post office near your special postal address? In such cases, the driver's license will eventually be returned to Transportstyrelsen. When this happens, Transportstyrelsen will contact you, and they will send the driver's license to your home address.
